Westmont’s baseball team barely held on to an early 6-1 lead against The Master’s on Wednesday, finishing the game with a 9-7 victory.
Warriors pitcher Timothy Crabbe won his first game of the season, allowing four hits and five runs in seven innings.
Westmont (10-25, 7-18) took its early lead in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on RBIs from Colten Christianson and Brent Meschuk and a 3-run homer from Jordan Bottenfield.Terrell Wong brought in two runs in the sixth inning thanks to a triple into center field, helping increase the Warriors’ lead to 9-2.
The Master’s (24-12, 14-9) fought its way back with four runs in the last three innings, but was unable to overcome the early Westmont lead.
Bottenfield finished with three hits and one run, while Christianson and Ezequiel Torres collected two runs and two hits each.
Westmont will face The Master’s again at home on Thursday.
