It was the second mercy-rule win in as many days for the Bishop Diego girls softball team, which downed visiting Cornerstone Christian 16-6 on Thursday afternoon.
Coach Tom Beamer said that Cornerstone (0-3) showed a lot of heart in battling back with three runs in the fifth. Freshman Diana Sleep had two of the Cardinals’ five doubles on the day, including one which scored her twin sister, Paige, from first.
The Cardinals (5-8) play San Marcos on Wednesday.
