The San Marcos boys golf team picked up a huge Channel League victory on Thursday, edging Buena by four strokes at Los Olivos Links in Ventura.
The Royals posted a 397 to the Bulldogs’ 401, lifting the Royals into second place with a 3-2 record. The win also avenged an earlier loss to Buena in Santa Barbara.
Kyle Rieb was low man for the Royals with a 76. Dodge Ward and John Etsell were right behind with a 78 and 79 respectively.
Each match will be huge from here on out as the Royals jostle for a playoff berth. Dos Pueblos, who also won on Thursday and is 2-3 in league, is on the schedule next week for San Marcos.
