Jack Stegall had six kills with three blocks and two digs while Freddy Williamson added six kills with five digs, but the Laguna Blanca boys volleyball team was outlasted by host Nordhoff in five sets Wednesday, 25-18, 11-25, 23-25, 25-22, 16-14.
The Owls (6-4, 4-1 Condor League), who will likely be without two of their three seniors for the rest of the season, led 8-1 in the second before things crumbled.
“It was a fun match — very exciting and stressful, just like a prep volleyball match should be,” said coach Bobby Sanchez. “We’re kind of starting over again with some JV guys, but we still have a lot of volleyball left and hopefully we’ll just keep getting better and better.”
Next up for Laguna is the Viewpoint Tournament in Calabasas.
