The Cate girls lacrosse team woke up just in time on Wednesday, outscoring Thacher 8-1 in the second half to come from behind and defeat league rival Thacher 14-8 in Ojai.
The victory keeps the Rams’ perfect league record intact at 4-0 and puts the Condor League’s leaders at 11-3-1 overall.
Shelby DeGroot and Tori Thompson recorded a team-high four goals each while Cascade Zak managed to put three scores into the net despite being the focus of a pesky Toads defense.
Maddie Firestone and Brennan Cusack controlled the midfield, winning nine draws between the two of them.
Hilary Williamson, Stephanie Ruys de Perez and Annie Weis each scored once to round out Cate’s goal total.
Alexx Temena tallied six saves in goal.
Cate travels to Beverly Hills on Saturday.
