Jack Perry and the Santa Barbara Dons boys golf team dipped down low to defeat Ventura on Tuesday, carding a season-low 351 to best the Cougars’ 375.
Perry’s round of 64 was six-strokes under par at BuenaVentura Golf Course, helping the Dons (8-2, 5-0) to a one-over score as a team. Perry’s round, which started with a double bogey on the third hole, consisted of eight birdies.
Shane Lebow posted a 2-under 68 and Mason Field and John Baur recorded matching 72s. Freshman Mickey Kirby scored a 75.
Santa Barbara has a busy week next week with three matches in three days, all Channel League. The league-leading Dons are at San Marcos on Tuesday, at Dos Pueblos on Wednesday and host Buena on Thursday.
