No. 7 Viewpoint stopped cold by Rams

The Cate boys tennis team defended its home courts on Monday, ousting Division IV’s seventh-ranked Viewpoint 11-7 in a non-league matchup.

The Patriots showed strength in singles by winning six sets but slipped up in doubles, falling in all but one set.

Cate’s doubles tandems of Wyatt Geiger-Blake Mackall and Rohit Goswamy-Mark Mullan swept their sets wth relative ease, as did the Rams’ No. 1 singles player Max Sabel.

The match starts a busy week for the Rams (5-2) who travel to No. 10 Santa Ynez on Wednesday followed by a visit to Division I school San Marcos on Friday.
