Edstrom, Chargers get it done at Santa Ynez

Dos Pueblos’ Christian Edstrom stepped up for the short-handed boys tennis team on Tuesday, sweeping his sets in a 12-6 non-league victory at Santa Ynez.

Edstrom was on his game, defeating Santa Ynez No. 1 Juan Ferrer 6-4 after having lost to him last year. Ferrer won his other two sets for the Pirates.

John Kim and Malcolm Sutton joined forces to earn the Chargers three sets in dominating fashion, compiling an 18-2 game advantage for the day.

Jake Roberts-Robert Laskin won two sets and Andy Silverstein won two sets in doubles with two different partners, Sean Simpson and Gabe Li.

The win puts DP at 10-2 on the season with a Thursday Channel League matchup against Ventura.
