Dons and Royals rained out after two innings

Santa Barbara’s baseball game against San Marcos Tuesday at Eddie Mathews Field was called due to rain at 0-0 after two full innings.

The Royals had picked up a pair of doubles in the game and had Dons ace Danny Zandona up to 35 pitches. Nick Stathopoulos had a stellar 12-pitch at-bat which ended in a double with one out in the second. Riley Moore cranked the other San Marcos double.

Jack Crummer nabbed a single for the Dons in the first for Santa Barbara’s only hit. Royals shortstop Victor Acevedo was in the middle of a pretty 1-6-3 double play to end the bottom of the second, and play was suspended shortly thereafter.

The game is tentatively scheduled to resume on Thursday.
