Chargers can’t get offense going in 8-0 loss

Dos Pueblos gave up eight quick runs and couldn’t climb back as the bats fell silent in Wednesday’s 8-0 softball loss at Camarillo.

The Chargers (5-8) got only two hits on the day as Jordan Roberts and Marissa Radeke each smacked singles. Camarillo hit back-to-back homers as part of a 5-run second.

DP freshman Hannah Harris came in to pitch in the fourth inning and hurled a one-hitter the rest of the way. Coach Donn Roberts said that the Chargers are going to have to get the offense going before playing at Buena, the Channel League’s top team, on Friday.

“We’ve gotta flip the switch and get the power going,” he said.
