Just when it looked like the Dos Pueblos softball team would walk away with a non-league victory on Wednesday, Pacifica struck with a seven-run seventh inning to take the decision 7-1 in the Pacific View Tournament.
“It could have easily been a 1-0 game,” said Donn Roberts, whose Chargers committed four errors in the final inning to help out Pacifica. “I think we played great, we just took our eye off the ball (in the seventh inning).”
Shelli Sibbert gave the Chargers the lead in the fifth inning after singling in starting pitcher Andria Castagnola. DP had five hits as a team.
Dos Pueblos (9-13) completes the tournament play on Thursday at home against Rio Mesa, then looks to four remaining Channel League games starting with San Marcos on Friday.
