Cardinals stumble after big win

The Bishop Diego baseball team had a rude awakening on Thursday morning, getting knocked around 10-0 in a five-inning loss to Beyer at the Righetti Tournament.

The team was up late the night before coming home with the excitement of having beaten Rodriguez and had to leave campus at 7 a.m. to make Thursday’s game.

Beyer scored in every inning but the second and Bishop couldn’t get anything going to avoid the 10-run rule.

“We were flat,” summed up Cardinals head coach Brian Moulton, theorizing that some of his players might not be morning people because of their lack of energy in the a.m. defeat.

The Cardinals mustered only three hits and comitted four errors.

They’ll have a chance to prove coach wrong with another morning contest on Friday with a 10 a.m. game against either Santa Maria or Pioneer Valley.
