A trimmed down Dos Pueblos boys tennis team held its own in doubles but got knocked around where it was leanest, falling at Calabasas 12-6 in a non-league game on Monday.
Missing their top two singles players, the Chargers managed just one set in one-on-one competition, an hour-long struggle that Austin Cano won in a tiebreaker.
Malcolm Sutton and Christian Edstrom controlled three sets on the doubles side and Andy Silverstein-Eric Katz won 2-of-3.
Dos Pueblos (12-3) has another non-league road match on Tuesday at Division IV’s No. 6-ranked team, Cate.
