Teammates Dalton Bowles and Erik Price scored identical 76s to slide the Carpinteria boys golf team past Santa Paula 438-446 at Mountain View Golf Course.
The victory improved the Warriors to 5-7 overall with the third Tri-Valley League meet scheduled for Thursday at Malibu Country Club.
Mike Galfterer broke 90 for the first time and Joey Biro nearly broke a benchmark number with a 100. Biro recorded a 45 on the back nine, a factor that Warriors head coach John Ward said was instrumental in Carpinteria’s tight non-league win.
“When you only win by eight strokes, that really helps,” he said.
