Carpinteria placed fifth in the opening Tri-Valley League golf tournament at Olivas Links in Ventura on Thursday.
Led by an 80 from Dalton Bowles, the Warriors finished with a total of 479 strokes. Malibu won the event at 392, five shots ahead of second-place Oak Park. Oaks Christian was third at 404 followed by St. Bonaventure at 418. Fillmore rounded out the scoring at 559.
Tyler Schwarz of Oak Park was the tourney medalist with a 2-over par 74.Mike Galsterer shot a personal-best 91 for the Warriors, who will host the next TVL tournament next Thursday at Montecito Country Club.
