The Carpinteria boys golf team got a lot of practice in on Tuesday, racking up 591 strokes at Montecito Country Club in a loss to Grace Brethren, which finished at 473.
Carpinteria’s Dalton Bowles was the medalist with an 84, and Erik Price fired an 87. But it was the Lancers who brought the consistency, with all five scores coming between 90 and 102.
On a good note, coach John Ward said that none of the youngsters on the course putted as poorly has he did on the day.
The Warriors open up Tri-Valley League play at Oak Park on Thursday.
