Ventura clobbers Dons, 12-1

Ventura starting pitcher Courtnie Snyder was in command and Santa Barbara’s defense was not, resulting in a 12-1 Channel League softball victory for the Cougars.

Rachel Hunter got the Dons’ lone hit, a double in the first inning. Snyder shut down Santa Barbara the rest of the way, helping Ventura improve its record to 6-2 while the Dons fall to 4-3 overall.

Santa Barbara didn’t help itself out with the leather either, recording six errors that led to many of Ventura’s runs.

Alexis Purifoy did the most damage at the plate for the Cougars, going 3-for-3 while totaling an impressive 11 bases. She had two home runs and a triple.
