Shannon Slaught, Bishop Diego’s one-woman swim team, competed in the DP non-league meet on Tuesday, coming in first overall in the 50 freestyle to automatically qualify for CIF. She also swam for a consideration time in the 100 fly.
Slaught moved on to Friday’s meet at Santa Barbara High and improved on Tuesday’s mark in the 50 free to take second place before qualifying for CIF in the 100 free with a second-place finish. She will represent the Cardinals in April’s Frontier League meets before going on to compete in CIF.
