Leanne Fretz broke up a no-hitter in the sixth inning, but by that time the San Marcos girls softball team was well on its way to a 9-0 defeat at Fillmore.
The Flashes scored three in the first inning and added four in the fourth while scoring in every inning but the second and fifth. They out hit San Marcos 15-to-2.
“We didn’t get any breaks,” noted Royals head coach Alex Sheldon.
San Marcos falls to 1-2 on the young season and has a tough matchup ahead on Monday against Cabrillo.
