The San Marcos boys golf team finds itself in a deep hole after its second straight Channel League loss on Tuesday afternoon, a 407-411 setback to Buena at Sandpiper Golf Course.
The Royals are now 1-4 to start the season and 0-2 in league.
It’s the worst start in at least 15 years for San Marcos according to head coach Dave Siordia.
Scott Bradford did post the low score of the day for either team, carding a 74 thanks to seven birdies and an eagle. Dodge Ward was four shots back of Bradford at 78.
John Etsell and Kyle Rieb contributed scores of 83 and 84, respectively.
