The San Marcos boys golf team remained mired in a season-opening slump on Wednesday at Tierra Rejada Golf Course in Moorpark, falling 357-403 to Westlake.
Scott Bradford was again the Royals’ brightest performer, recording a one-under 71, three strokes behind Westlake’s medalist, Brandon Hagy.
Dodge Ward was San Marcos’ other low scorer, completing the 6700-yard course in 75 strokes.
John Etsell (82), Kyle Rieb (87) and Peter Wilson (89) filled out the Royals’ scorecard on the day.
San Marcos drops to 1-5, 0-2 Channel League and Westlake improves to 9-2, 2-0.
