The Santa Barbara Riptide, an AYSO U10 boys all-star soccer team, came in first place in its flight at the Pot O’ Gold Tournament in Thousand Oaks last weekend, March 21 and 22.
The Riptide defeated Beverly Hills and Castaic, both by a score of 6-0, before playing to a 1-1 tie against Pacific Palisades in pool play. In the championship game under windy conditions, the Riptide prevailed against Camarillo, 5-1.
Team members include Miles Baldwin, Ryan Borchardt, Aidan Chandrasekaran, Sam Drew, Josh Feldhaus, Ryan Guardino, Thomas Hantgin, Matthew Hempy, Treyson Lavender and Hayden Schoenfelder.The Riptide is coached by Brad Hempy and Jeff Lavender.
