The Santa Barbara girls softball team wrapped up play in the Cabrillo Tournament on Saturday, defeating Nipomo 5-1 to reach the championship game where they were stopped by the hosts, 10-0.
Junior Rebecca Nielsen-Robbins pitched a complete game for the Dons and struck out seven Nipomo batters on the way to her third win of the season.
Right fielder Monique Medina was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and shortstop Mary Ann Giles went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.
Sarah Leeds knocked a run-scoring triple and was responsible for breaking up no-hit bid from Cabrillo in the fifth inning of the title game. Santa Barbara managed only two hits against the Conquistadores.
Santa Barbara has one more non-league contest, at Santa Paula on Wednesday, before beginning Channel League competition the following week.
