The Dos Pueblos track & field team swept the boys and girls competitions at Buena on Thursday afternoon in a dual meet to open up the Channel League season.
Both sides won handedly – the girls 96-41 and the boys even stronger at 94-33.
The Chargers had several athletes winning multiple events. Isaiha Brown took down both the 100-meter and the 200 while Steven Scarvelis couldn’t be matched in the 110- or 330-meter hurdles.
Erin Ristig also threw down the 1-2 punch, capturing the 200- and 400-meter girls races.
Scarvelis and Brown were also teammates on the winning 4×100 relay team along with Cliff Lekas and Patrick Smith.
Likewise, Ristig also nabbed another first with the girls 4×100 team, joining Marina Plesons, Michelle Gee and Melissa Motyer.
It was a clean sweep in the long distance races for cross-country runners Chris Braden and Sophie Pollack, posting the fastest times in the day’s longest events, the 1600- and 3200-meter.
Not to be outdone, Carly Wopat and Nicholas Scarvelis swept the weight-throwing events, posting two wins each in discus and shotput.
