Bishop Diego’s boys golf team finished fourth out of six teams at the Frontier League Tournament #2 at Soule Park in Ojai, par 71 on Thursday.Bishop was led by Anthony Pell’s 89, followed by a strong showing from from Scott Grimes (90) and Garrett Garcia (91).
Pell and Garcia have both been pleasant surprises for the Cardinals, as Pell has earned the top spot after starting the season as the team’s No. 3 player. Garcia has been with the team only two weeks after switching over from tennis.
“Our goal is to narrow the gap between 3rd and 4th place. We need more consistent play from our 4th-6th players. I’m sure that will come during the season as they gain more experience,” said co-coach Marty Herrera.
