Royals taken out by Tritons, 55-25

San Marcos girls basketball coach Kristyn Miller was pleased that her team played physically tough against a physical Pacifica team Saturday, but the Royals’ offense was stagnant in a 55-25 loss.

San Marcos mustered just seven points in the second half, being led by Jeannette Mendoza’s nine points in the game. Miller said she was happy with the hustle of Mendoza, Lindsey Hyslop and Desiree Porter-Ray. It was a tough week for the team, which had to face powerhouses Ventura and Buena as well.

“I think this week will help us significantly the next time we play Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara, particularly on the defensive side of the ball,” said Miller.
