Seniors Connor MacGillivray and A.J. Fling took charge of the Bishop Diego boys basketball team on Wednesday in a 60-34 Frontier League rout of Villanova at the Brickhouse.
MacGillivray poured in a season-high 20 points with a hefty 15 rebounds and two blocks to go with it. Fling also had a double-double, recording 15 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.
The Cardinals, who wrap up the regular season on Friday at home against Grace Brethren, rode MacGillivray in the first quarter when they built an early 12-point lead. The forward had 10 points, six rebounds in the quarter but got into foul trouble and was forced to sit.
The Wildcats took advantage, shrinking the lead to eight by halftime.
Bishop quickly built it back up and cruised in the second half to the 26-point win.
