David Lane and Richard Somdah of SBCC have been named to the first-team All-WSC North Division men’s basketball squad.
Lane, a freshman guard from Akron, Ohio, was the third-leading scorer in the WSC at 18.4, second in assists at 5.4 and fourth in steals at 2.0. Somdah, a 6-3 freshman forward from Houston, Texas, averaged nearly 12 points, was No. 2 in WSC field-goal percentage (63.0) and 10th in rebounding (6.8).
The Vaqueros’ Mark Keeten, a sophomore guard, was named honorable mention. He was ninth among WSC scorers at 16.5 and second in free-throw percentage at 86.0.
SBCC (13-19, 5-7) dropped six of its last eight games and finished fifth in the WSC North.
Tom Schumacher, a 6-4 guard from North co-champion Cuesta, was named MVP while Cuesta’s Rusty Blair of Coach of the Year.
