The Laguna Blanca girls soccer team finished its record-breaking season with a 2-1 Condor League victory over Dunn on Wednesday.
The Owls dominated early, creating a 2-0 gap by halftime. The first player to make a move was Erin Stone, heading the ball in for Laguna Blanca’s first goal. Forward Rebecca Braly scored second for the Owls, adding to the lead.
“We controlled the game up until the end when they really started to put pressure on us,” commented Laguna Blanca coach Gregg Luna.
Owl goalie Nikki Byrnes made several excellent blocks, holding Dunn to one goal.
Laguna finished its league season without a loss for the first time in school history , holding a 13-3-1 overall record and a 5-0-1 record in league. The team is anxious for the playoff pairings to be released Monday afternoon and hope to continue this momentum.
