Bishop Diego turned around a slow start by finishing on a 23-2 run Thursday night in a 47-30 girls basketball win at Grace Brethren.
It was a two-headed monster that led the Cards, with Janelle Kohler scoring 18 points with 13 boards and Jennifer Jimenez adding 15 points with 10 rebounds. Coach Jeff Burich said that Courtney Houston had an outstanding game defensively.
Bishop trailed 28-24 late in the third quarter before starting the impressive run.
“I think we’re playing our best basketball right now, especially with what we got from Janelle and Jennifer tonight. It was the first time they’ve really just carried us. Jennifer just wasn’t going to let us lose,” said Burich.
Bishop has Malibu and Carpinteria coming up.
