Anthony Sarena, Lucas Lorio and Connor Dorais each went 2-0 Saturday in the CIF wrestling team tournament at Cajon High School. The Chargers defeated Redlands East Valley 64-20 to start the day, then fell to a solid Silverado team 57-24.
Dorais had an MRI done Friday and was cleared to wrestle after suffering a concussion in last weekend’s Channel League Championships. Both of his wins came via pin.The Chargers racked up four pins against Silverado but didn’t win any decisions.
“There were several other winnable matches besides those pins, but they were solid and we didn’t match up that well with them,” said DP head coach Anthony Califano.
Twelve Chargers will wrestle in next weekend’s CIF Individual Championships at Pacifica High in Oxnard.
