The Cate girls basketball team ended the season on a good note in its final Condor League game against Dunn with a 44-22 victory.
The young, scrappy Dunn team was no match for Cate’s senior veterans. The Rams’ Cascade Zak put up 12 points, followed by fellow senior Vanessa Vilsaint with 10 points.
Senior Maddie Firestone also contributed seven points to the team’s score with seven rebounds.
“With a great senior effort, we were able to hold our own pretty well,” said Cate coach Jim Masker.
According to Masker, Grace Williams has been in double figures for rebounds lately, and finished with an unstoppable 13 against Cate.
The Rams conclude the regular season with a 10-4 overall record and a 5-1 league record and have clinched at least a share of first place in Condor league.
Cate will have to wait until Sunday to find out who it will be hosting in its first playoff game either next Thursday or Saturday.
