The Cate girls basketball team came out victorious in front a packed crowd at its last home game, winning 43-37 over rival Laguna Blanca.
“It was a really exciting game,” assistant coach Jim Masker said. “Our girls really went all out. It was just exceptional.”
Grace Williams finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Vanessa Vilsaint tallied 18 points.
The Owls played a relentless game, closing the gap to four at the end of the third quarter. The Rams were forced to play all their cards in order to come out on top.
“Laguna played very aggressively on defense and had a lot of movement, so the Laguna team should be commended for the tenacity of their play,” Masker said.
The Owls (9-4, 4-1) will next face Dunn next week.
