Rebecca Griffin poured in 21 points and Brandi Blackwell led an improved rebounding effort with 16 boards, but Santa Barbara fell a bit short in an upset bid against visiting Buena on Thursday night, 49-34.
“We were 11-of-44 shooting tonight because we rushed a lot of shots. You have to take your time and put the ball in the basket,” said coach Andrew Butcher. But we rebounded a little better this game.”
The Dons play at San Marcos on Monday.
