Big Mac’s big game can’t top Aguirre, Flashes

Senior Connor MacGillivray scored 13 points and grabbed 20 rebounds for Bishop Diego, but Fillmore got 24 from star Noah Aguirre and pulled out a 44-35 home win over the Cardinals on Friday.

“We had a heap of turnovers again, but I was happy with the effort,” said coach Ray Vazquez. “It’s a credit to these kids that they had their best practices of the season this week.”

Aguirre was held to just seven points in the first half. Bishop’s AJ Fling pulled down 11 rebounds and Art Gonzalez had six boards and four points.

“Those three played like men tonight,” said Vazquez of seniors MacGillivray, Fling and Gonzalez.
