Cascade Zak scored 16 points in Cate’s Condor League opener on Wednesday, pacing the Rams girls basketball team to a 42-26 victory on the Mesa.
Vanessa Vilsaint was Cate’s second-leading scorer with 10. Maddie Firestone had eight points and recorded team highs in assists (6) and rebounds (6).
Cate did a good job of sharing the basketball, getting 16 assists on 21 field goals in a game in which everyone got the opportunity to play.
The Rams improve to 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in league.
