Santa Barbara’s Sarah Leads and Brianna Lopez returned the favor, each assisting on the other’s goal in a 2-2 tie with Oxnard on Tuesday at Peabody Stadium.
Lopez opened the scoring in the non-conference matchup, knocking one home in the 32nd minute off a Leads pass. In the 42nd minute, it was Lopez’s turn to find Leads, who scored to put the Dons up 2-0.
Oxnard managed to rally, however, with two second-half goals to earn the tie.
“It was a good team effort, disapointing result,” said head coach Bryan Lloyd.
It was the final preseason game for Santa Barbara, which starts Channel League play next Tuesday with a home game against Ventura.
