The Carpinteria girls soccer team struggled to create enough scoring chances against visiting Tri-Valley League foe La Reina on Friday, eventually falling 4-0.
Carpinteria had lost to the Regents by five goals in their previous meeting so head coach Lucy Carleton started Maritsa Torres in the back to strengthen the defense. The Warriors held La Reina to a single goal in the first half before allowing three in the second, but still limited the oppponents to only six shots.
Cindy Torres was able to put the Warriors in position to get on the scoreboard, putting several well-placed balls into the box that La Reina was able to diffuse.
Carpinteria (6-9-1, 1-6 TVL) faces Fillmore next on Monday.
