It was a game that’ll drive any first-year head coach crazy.
“We dominated about 85-percent of the game but they got a goal in the 15th minute and just kind of sat back. We had about 10 good chances to score and just couldn’t,” said Daniel Torres after his Carpinteria boys soccer team fell to rival Fillmore 1-0 on Wednesday.
Despite strong defense, the 22-year-old coach said that the 9-4 Warriors lacked concentration up top. Sounding dejected, the former Santa Barbara High star said he’s still getting used to such losses.
“It’s tough, especially losing at home and to Fillmore, which we consider our rivals in league,” he said. “All we can do now is learn from what we did wrong. Tomorrow is another day.”
