The Santa Barbara boys soccer team has been next to impossible to stop this season and Saturday was no different.
The Dons recorded two more victories, the last a 3-0 decision over the hosts to take home the Buena Tournament title.
Santa Barbara, now 16-1, defeated Westlake 1-0 in the day’s earlier match to make the final against the Bulldogs, who beat Ventura in their semifinal on penalty kicks.
Peter Aguilar tallied the Dons’ lone score against Westlake, and Justin Jimenez, Marcos Lopez and Christian Pardo connected against Buena.
In four games, Santa Barbara didn’t allow a goal in the entire tournament. That makes it 13 shutouts in 17 games.
“We’re in a nice little groove right now,” said Dons head coach Todd Heil. “Our defense has been playing really well lately.”
It is the second tournament title of the season for Santa Barbara, which is also champion of the Cats & Hounds Tournament. The Dons’ only loss came in the final of the South Torrance Tournament.
