The Dos Pueblos girls basketball team ran into a wall both literally and figuratively on Saturday.
Pacifica’s 6-foot-4 monster of a post player Keiana Vines ruled the paint on both ends of the court, going 9-for-9 from the field to help stop the Chargers, 56-27.
Dos Pueblos has been playing with seven or eight players all season long and head coach Maynard Pilapil thinks it might finally be catching up to his 10-11 Chargers, who fell below .500 for the first time this season.
“We knew we were going to run into this lull towards the end of the season with the youth and the short-bench,” he said.
Meagan Murphy led the Chargers with eight points and Sara Crane had seven.
Dos Pueblos now has a long layoff to regroup. The next game on the schedule isn’t until Jan. 27, against the Dons.
