Bishop hoopsters bit by turnover bug again

Ray Vazquez claims what he saw from his team on Friday was a first.

“We had 15 points and 17 turnovers in the first half. I don’t think I’ve ever been at a game where a team has more turnovers than points in a half,” he said after Bishop Diego’s 53-45 boys basketball loss at Santa Paula.

Michael Schlesselmann nailed a 3-pointer on a set play and 6-foot-7 sophomore Spencer Shull tallied eight rebounds and seven blocks. Even though the Cardinals struggled terribly with turnovers, they were still down only four points with four minutes to go.

“We’re going to have to make some changes an adjustments… In our league, any team can win on any night,” said Vazquez.
