Bishop Diego couldn’t overcome a 19-point deficit in the third quarter and suffered a 61-49 basketball defeat at Oak Park on Monday night.
Despite missing nine wide-open layups in the first half, the young Cardinals trailed by only five points (25-20) at halftime.
But the mistakes caught up with Bishop in the third quarter and the Eagles capitalized and opened up a 45-32 advantage.
The Cardinals battled back behind the scoring of Hayden Slaught and Sam Kwock, but the deficit was too much to overcome. Slaught scored seven of his 11 points in the quarter.
Elias Munoz led Bishop (5-4) with 15 points.
