Bailey Huff scored a season-high 14 points but SBCC couldn’t find its shooting rhythm Friday, making only 29.4 percent in a 63-51 first-round women’s basketball loss to Fullerton at the Antelope Valley Holiday Tournament in Lancaster.
Santa Barbara hit just 19 percent (4-of-21) in the first half and fell behind 30-19.
Huff, a 5-10 freshman from Montclair Prep, hit 8-10 free throws and grabbed seven rebounds for the 20th-ranked Vaqueros (10-7). Janelle Wong, a former Dos Pueblos High star, drained a trio of 3-pointers and added 11 points. Katie Randall had eight points, six rebounds and five assists.
The Vaqueros, who’ve dropped three of their last four, will try to get revenge against L.A. Valley on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. On Dec. 12 at the Moorpark Classic, SBCC fell behind Valley 42-20 at halftime, then rallied within two points before falling 77-73.
