Ali Raack and Lindsey Underwood provided plenty of offense for the Royals, but a bad-luck own goal allowed visiting Oak Park to record a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.
Raack scored within 10 minutes of the opening whistle, but later had to leave the game because of a hurt wrist.
Oak Park evened it at 1-1 by halftime and took a 2-1 lead on the San Marcos own goal.
Royals coach Christy Lozano said her team was much better this game at retaining possession and passing, citing Underwood’s goal as a direct result.
Defender Emma Campbell found Underwood from the back and Underwood equalized for the Royals.
Lozano credited Jenny-Ann Martinez for her hustle.
“Her desire and effort was 110 percent today,” said Lozano.
San Marcos (0-1-3) plays at home again on Thursday against another Tri-Valley League team in Nordhoff.
