Kelly McKay scored in the last 10 minutes to lift the San Marcos girls soccer squad to a 2-1 win over visiting Nordhoff on Thursday.
“It was and excellent passing performance,” said coach Christy Lozano. “They created numerous chances both halves.”
Alyssa Carney scored the game’s first goal in the 70th minute, and the Rangers tied it up five minutes later before McKay sealed the victory.
Lozano said that Hayden Pugh and Lizzy Robertson played exceptionally for the Royals (1-3-1), who host San Luis Obispo on Wednesday.
