Laguna Blanca and Cate boys soccer tussled to a 0-0 tie on Wednesday in Carpinteria, with neither team allowing the other too many scoring opportunities.
Laguna coach Kevin Shertzer called it a “midfield battle” with both teams’ best chance coming in the final 10 minutes of the match.
Laguna Blanca’s Seth Judson almost put the Owls in front with a header that hit the post off a cross from Ryan Richardson.
Minutes later, Cate hit the left post on a 25-yard free kick before the final whistle sounded soon after.
It was the final match for either school before winter vacation and 2009.
