Jesse Gonzalez set the Dons in motion with his fifth goal of the season in the fourth minute and Santa Barbara put together another shutout, a 3-0 win over Moorpark on Tuesday afternoon at Peabody Stadium.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Angulo hasn’t allowed a goal this season, and the Dons have shut out six of their first seven opponents.
Other than having to make one difficult save in the first half, Santa Barbara’s back line kept Moorpark in check.
“Our defense is playing phenomenal,” said Dons coach Todd Heil, whose team is 7-0 and coming off a title at the Cats and Hounds Tournament.
Forward George Munoz increased the Dons’ 1-0 halftime lead with a goal in the in the 54th minute. Christian Pardo put in another in the 74th minute. Pardo added an assist on Gonzalez’s goal.
Santa Barbara plays again Saturday.
