It was one of those days for the Carpinteria girls soccer team, which out-shot host Laguna Blanca 19-6 but absorbed a 3-1 loss.
“We couldn’t find the net to save our lives,” said coach Lucy Carleton.
Yadira Saldana put away a penalty kick in the 32nd minute to put the Warriors up 1-0, but the Owls sneaked one in just before the break and pulled away in the second.
Carpinteria (2-3-1) will try to bounce back from two losses in two days when it hosts Bishop Diego on Friday.
“I know they can do it. We’ve just got to execute a little better and then we’ll be fine,” said Carleton.
