Chris Bremner showed impressive leadership for the Laguna Blanca boys soccer team, scoring twice against Villanova in a 3-0 shutout on Friday.
The first half was not easy for the Owls, as they couldn’t convert on some solid shots by Seth Judson and Ryan Richardson.
A turnaround occurred, however, when a tussle with the goalkeeper gave Bremner his chance to take advantage of the loose ball and score the first goal of the game in the first few minutes of the second half. Jason Kurilla welcomed some luck when he scored another goal at the four-minute mark with the help of a Villanova opponent.
A good display of teamwork shined through at the 15-minute mark, when Judson played a square ball across the box to Troy Ritter. Ritter than handed it off to Bremner, who put it away.
Coach Kevin Shertzer was ultimately satisfied with the way his team performed.
“Our defense played extremely well and all-in-all, it was a comfortable victory,” he said.
Laguna Blanca plays again on Monday.
